Emmrich is a lucky, privileged, intelligent man who knows all of that. He was born a mage in a world where most mages got locked away as soon as their powers manifested, but when his made themselves known he was taken in by the Necropolis and trained where he still lives and works. He's had freedom his whole life. Having money is something that came later in his life as he was born to poor parents and orphaned very young, and he's never forgotten being very poor, but he's comfortable now.

As a necromancer, Emmrich talks to the dead, can animate skeletons, guides spirits, and puts down threats. He is passionate about what he does, to the point that he befriended a Curiosity wisp and together they customized a skeleton for said wisp to occupy. The occupied skeleton is named Manfred, and he's Emmrich's constant companion.

In 9:53 Dragon, Emmrich is recruited to join the efforts of the Veilguard in defeating two+ ancient gods who sought to bring the world to its knees. Spoilers for his canon choices are below the colored bar at the bottom.

Emmrich is almost always dressed well, with his silver-streaked black hair done perfectly, carrying a staff with a skull at the top that green sparks seem to bubble out of. He's 6'5" and often accompanied by a 5" skeleton with emeralds for eyes. The skeleton wears a coat and boots.
